Design: Rebellious Teen

You Anarchist

For the title of each perfume I wanted them to be as straight to the point as possible so that the project is seen as a response to perfume marketing rather than an actual product. For the alternative fragrance I have gone with the name 'Rebellious Teen'.

Reference Ads

This packaging is based on a more alternative market, which is in general a younger audience that want to make more of a statement about themselves. The colours are generally a more garish version of what is typically understood as 'girly' and 'feminine'. The typography is generally a bold sans serif typeface that is the focus of the whole ad. The models used are generally quite quirky and have a certain amount of attitude.

To bring an interactive feel of empowerment and rebellion to the packaging I am going to add a seal that overlaps the lid and front panel that the user needs to break to get into it.

I have used a stock image of a 'rebel girl with guitar' to communicate the anarchy and 'against the grain' ideas that buying and wearing this perfume represents.

I used a set of grunge splatter graphics to add some visual distortion to the packaging, but when used too much it made the packaging look a bit too goth-ey and murder-ey, but when used on smaller detail areas it moved it gave it a bit of edge.

Gift Bag

For the draw string on this bag I will use black silk

I've added this badge to give it an over the top feel, to try and get across the point that the visuals given to perfume are superficial and not genuine and that it is just there to trick you into buying the product.

Summary/ Evaluation

I think that the end product for this perfume is more over the top than the adverts that are found in vogue, as this would be too immature for the audience, however in terms of illustrating the point of the dissertation it works and is obviously different from the other two adverts.
If I were to extend this project, promotion could be mocked up for relevant music festivals and adverts could be made that would appear on music channels and between youtube videos.
